Shanti Uganda is also looking for
organizations, medical or midwifery practices, or corporate groups who would
like to support healthy outcomes for mothers and babies in rural Uganda. The main consideration is providing midwifery
care to women. A trained midwife's salary
for one year in Uganda is only $3600 - an amount that doesn't seem like
a lot in North America, but can help so many women and children in Uganda.
Sister Practices contribute $300 monthly or a one-time donation of $3600 to support a midwife to care for 6 women per month. Note: tax receipts for Corporate Birth Partners can either be issued to individual group members or to a business/practice - please let us know which you would prefer
