Hosting a Shanti Uganda Home Party is a wonderful way to help contribute to improving the lives of the communities we work with in Uganda at no cost to you.  100% of the proceeds go towards our project.  Hosts are an integral part to our fundraising effort in improving the lives of mothers and grandmothers living with HIV/AIDS, improving infant and maternal health and supporting teen girls.

Complete the registration form to request your Shanti Party package.  

A Shanti representative will be in touch with you within 2-3 days to confirm the details.  Due to variable shipping times and possible delays in processing, we recommend that you register a minimum number of weeks in advance, depending on your location, to ensure you receive your package in time. Please refer to the following chart:

Shanti Party Package

Your Shanti Party Package will contain:
  • Shanti Uganda flyers and business cards
  • Biographies of the women in our income generating group
  • An online link to the Shanti Uganda Informational Video (by email)
  • Sales tracking sheet (by email)
  • Shanti Party information sign-up sheet (by email)
  • A variety of Shanti Uganda products depending on the size of your party
    • Small (approx. 85 pieces for 1-15 guests)
    • Medium (approx. 180 pieces for 15-30 guests)
    • Large (approx. 360 pieces for 30 guests of more)

 


Before Your Party...

You've set the date, and now you're ready to party. But wait – don't forget to invite the guests! Send an email invitation to your family and friends, print a poster to display at your school or workplace, or make it an event on Facebook! We suggest including some information about Shanti Uganda on your invitation, and letting your guest know that unique jewellery and bags will be available for purchase at your party. Remind them to bring cash or cheques, and their shopping list!

Shanti-Fy!

Before your guests arrive, it's time to deck the halls with boughs of Shanti – in words, it's time to Shanti-fy!

There's really no right or wrong way to display your Shanti products, but we highly recommend you take them out of the box and get creative! It's important that you make it easy for guests to view  the jewellery and bags, so use tables and counters that are high enough for comfortable browsing. You can spice up an old table with a nice fabric, cover over-turned bowls with cloth to create depth, use wine glasses to display earrings and coat racks to display bags – the possibilities are endless!

Some other creative ideas you may wish to use for your party include:

–        Placing African musical instruments around the room

–        Compiling an African playlist on your iTunes

–        Setting up a DVD player or computer for the Shanti DVD

–        Serving an African recipe, or calling it a potluck and asking guests to bring one African-inspired dish

            After Shanti-fication is complete, print your sales tracking and Shanti Party information sign-up sheet. Be sure to leave out a few pens! Finally, decide where you're going to put the payments as you receive them. We recommend using either a cash box or a zipper pouch that you can carry around your waist.

During your party...

Have fun and enjoy your party! Keep track of the items you sell and encourage your guests with questions to send us an email at homeparty@shantiuganda.org

After your party...

Package any unsold items neatly into a box (using newspaper or recycled packing materials to ensure safety of products) and monies that you've fundraised and ship to:

Using the electronic version of the sales tracking invoice you received by email, follow the steps below to complete it. We have tried to make it as straight-forward as possible, but if you have any confusion about this form, please do not hesitate to email your concerns to homeparty@shantiuganda.org. Send a CHEQUE for all the products you've sold along with the unsold items.  Please note, the home party host is responsible for return shipping costs. 


Payment

Shanti Uganda wants your party be fun, easy and rewarding and at no charge to you.  Because we will be sending you a large amount of product on consignment, we need to have a valid credit card number on file.  

A Shanti Uganda representative will contact you to obtain this information. Your card will not be charged when you first sign up.  If all your unsold items and monies are returned within 20 days after your party end date, your credit card will not be charged and Shanti Uganda will destroy that information. You are responsible for all of the items shipped to you, including lost or stolen items.  A 3rd party collections agency may be used to collect the unreturned product and/or monies.
